Your City Commission The City is governed by a "Commission-Manager" form of government. There are five City Commissioners. The City Commission meets the first and third Monday of each month at 9am in City Hall. The public is welcome.
Communications The office provides media relations and social media outreach for nine departments: City Manager, Development Services, Financial Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, Parks & Recreation, Planning, Public Works, and Utilities and provides communications support for the Sarasota Police Department and Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
Public Notice Bulletin Board The City of Sarasota in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) provides reasonable accommodations for all official city proceedings. Register a Vacation Rental The City of Sarasota allows for short-term vacation rentals within Residential Zoning Districts throughout City limits. The minimum stay requirement for any short-term vacation rental unit located within the City limits of Sarasota is 7 Full Days and 7 Full Nights, as per City of Sarasota Zoning Code Section II-304(b)(1) and Section VI-202(b).

"Amphitrite" by Truman Adams Local artist Truman Adams takes a contemporary approach to a classical subject with his mural Amphitrite, painted on the west-facing wall of a city-owned lift station. Visible from US-41, the goddess of the sea is represented as a Greek sculpture surrounded by coral.
