The Performers

The legacy of the circus arts in Sarasota is brought to the fore in David Lee’s mural, The Performers. Lee brings the Main Street alleyway to life in his collage of performers whose talent and individuality made them superstars of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. When painting this mural, Lee’s goal was to harken back to the "heyday" of the Ringling circus.

Fun in the Sun

Straight out of a vintage postcard, David Lee’s Fun in the Sun mural features a classic beach scene. The design evokes the typical imagery used in mid-20th century advertising which showcased Sarasota as a top destination for tourists seeking sugar-sand beaches, calm turquoise waters, and of course, plenty of sunshine.
