"Now You See Us" by The Petticoat Painters

Petticoat Painters - Now You See Us composite artwork

“Now You See Us” is a colorful new artwork created by the Petticoat Painters, a Sarasota‑based collective of women artists who have been exhibiting together for more than seventy years. The piece brings together twenty‑four original paintings arranged in a five‑by‑five grid. At the center is a plaque that honors the artists and the long history of their group.

Each artist contributed a painting inspired by themes from their recent City Hall Cultural Heritage Exhibit or by their own signature style. When viewed together, the paintings create a bright and engaging display that reflects the energy and creativity of the group.

The artwork is now installed on the third floor of the City of Sarasota One Stop Shop, a central hub for City services. Its placement continues the celebration of the Petticoat Painters that began with the year‑long City Hall exhibition “Sarasota’s Own Petticoat Painters: Now You See Us.”
