Meter Parking

Time Restricted Parking

There are hundreds of marked and unmarked spaces available for on-street parking. Time and days vary for restrictions, but the effective time restriction periods are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., excluding city holidays and Sundays. Signs are posted near parking spaces and should be seen by anyone with reasonably good vision.

Please be sure to observe and comply with all posted signs and be aware of parking laws which are not always posted.

Parking for the Disabled (With handicap placard/Plate) The State of Florida mandates that on-street metered parking be provided free for up to 4 hours for individuals with a valid disabled placard, and for DMV plates. Parking is permitted without payment at any on-street location with or without meters, so long as the valid users is displaying a permit.

Motorcycle parking is available throughout Downtown. Please note the difference between motorcycle parking spaces, regular metered spaces, and disabled parking access spaces. Motorcycles which use a metered space must pay for parking as would any vehicle. Motorcycles wishing to use the public parking garages should look for the “free” motorcycle corrals located on the ground floor, outside of the gated system.

No overnight RV Parking is permitted, and vehicles need to fit within the allowed parking spaces.

Metered Parking Payment Stations

After years of continued downtown and regional growth, both in the residential and business properties, now, more than ever, the demand for parking in the prime spaces in downtown leaves close access, well, something to be desired, and downright difficult during the peak business hours. The new metered parking program will improve parking accessibility, turnover and create shorter walking distances to stores and restaurants. Plus, with less cruising around to find a parking space, there will be fewer vehicles emissions — which will help reduce pollution downtown.

How to Utilize the Stations

You only need to enter your license plate and how much time you need for parking. You may want to take a picture of your plate for use at the pay station. Metered parking is $1.50 per hour by credit card only.
