The goal of the Neighborhood Safety Guides is to improve basic understanding of safety concepts, common safety projects, and offer best-practices for safely navigating the city on your mode of choice. The topic-specific guides are only two pages and include a “how to” portion for city residents and visitors.

E-Bikes
E-bikes operate at higher speeds and are heavier than traditional bicycles, increasing crash risks and making rider awareness and compliance essential for community safety. This guide outlines rules and safety expectations for e-bike riders, including required equipment, right-of-way protocols, and how to determine whether the road is safe for "taking the lane". It also explains Florida's legal e-bike classifications and local regulations, such as speed limits on the Legacy Trail.
