Reasonable Accommodation Request

The City of Sarasota, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), provides reasonable accommodations for all official city proceedings. Persons with disabilities requesting an accommodation under the ADA should contact the City ADA Coordinator, Jake Brown, at least two business days prior to official city meetings by calling 941-263-6299 or ADACoordinator@sarasotafl.gov. Your employment rights as an individual

Thank you for your interest in the EcoRover Rental Program!

The EcoRover is available for rent, at no cost, at the Lido Beach Pavilion, 400 Benjamin Franklin Dr. Sarasota, FL 34236, and is available for use Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The EcoRover is not available for use on Holidays, during lightning storms, or on the weekends.

Each Rental period will be a maximum of 4 hours during the hours of operation. This means the latest a reservation can be made is 12:00 pm if you wish to use the EcoRover for the full 4 hours. Partial reservations are accepted. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance on a business day.

To reserve the EcoRover, please email Jake.Brown@sarasotaFL.gov, or ADACoordinator@sarasotafl.gov. You may also reserve the EcoRover by contacting the ADA Coordinator at 941-263-6299. Please provide the date and time you wish to reserve the EcoRover when emailing or calling.

  • If you are unable to attend your reservation, or will be late, please notify us at 941-263-6299 at least 30 minutes before your reservation start time. 
  • Users who are over 30 minutes late to their reservation will have their reservation forfeited.
  • To operate the EcoRover you must attend an on-site training and sign a waiver.
  • Only the individual who has signed the waiver and reviewed the training may operate the EcoRover during their reservation time slot.

Important Notes

  • The EcoRover is only available for rent by individuals aged 18+. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. In the event that a dependent is the one who will be using the EcoRover, their Guardian may sign the waiver on their behalf. Both Guardian and Dependent will be instructed in safe usage of the EcoRover under these circumstances.
  • The City of Sarasota, and or the attendant facilitating the rental of the EcoRover, cannot secure, store, or take ownership of any property of the customer.
  • The attendant cannot assist the customer in any way with transfer to the EcoRover.

Grievance Procedure under the Americans with Disabilities Act

This Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"). It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits by the City of Sarasota. The City of Sarasota's Personnel Policy governs employment-related complaints of disability discrimination.

The complaint should be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant and location, date, and description of the problem. Alternative means of filing complaints, such as personal interviews or a tape recording of the complaint, will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request.

The complaint should be submitted by the grievant and/or his/her designee as soon as possible but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation to:
