Monday, March 9, 2026
10:00 AM
Location: North wall of the SSAS gymnasium building, on May Lane between Central and Florida Avenues
The ceremony will feature remarks from City, Neighborhood, and School leadership, and the artist, Swirly Painter, along with a special performance by the SSAS drum line. The event brings together students, residents, and community partners to recognize the role of public art in shaping shared spaces and experiences.
Creative Seeds is inspired by the idea that creativity begins with a single spark and grows through learning, exploration, and expression. The mural’s imagery of seeds, flowers, books, and musical instruments reflects the nurturing of imagination and the role of young people in shaping Sarasota’s cultural future. Rendered in the artist’s signature bold color and flowing forms, the work transforms the school’s exterior into a dynamic symbol of possibility and momentum.
All are invited to attend this public celebration and experience the newest addition to the City’s public art collection.
