Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 (City)

The City of Sarasota and Sarasota County, through the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) have been awarded $23,000,000 in NSP 2 funds. The funds will be used to acquire and rehabilitate 100 abandoned or foreclosed homes, demolish 10 blighted structures to remove their negative effect and create 85 housing units on demolished or vacant land. These activities will help stabilize the neighborhood across income levels by providing affordable housing to households earning at or below 100 percent of the area median income with 25 percent of the funds going to those earning less than 50% of the area median income.

Families interested in purchasing a home through either the NSP 1 or NSP 2 program should contact participating nonprofit agencies that are working in partnership with OHCD now. A list of the nonprofit agencies may be found here.

All rehabilitation work will be performed by the nonprofit agencies. OHCD will not be hiring any contractors directly.
