The Grinch is welcomed at City Hall; Nov. 14 declared 'Grinchmas Day'
Nov. 6, 2025
That mischievous green one was spotted at City Hall recently in advance of
Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas!
The Musical
performing at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
later this month.
The Grinch’s notorious attempts to steal Christmas and cause chaos were on display as he tried (unsuccessfully!) to approve funding to change the color of the Van Wezel from seashell purple to Grinch green! Despite his impish antics, Mayor Liz Alpert, along with Commissioners Jen Ahearn-Koch and Kathy Kelley Ohlrich, gave The Grinch a warm Sarasota welcome and declared November 14, 2025 “Grinchmas Day”, a special recognition that his visit promises to spread holiday cheer throughout our community. Who-ray!
Catch The Grinch in person at the Van Wezel Nov. 14-16!
Tickets for
Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical
are available at
VanWezel.org
, by calling 941-263-6799, or by visiting the Veteran Air Box Office at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. or Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
