Join us for the opening reception of "Now You See Us" Phase 2, a City Hall Cultural Heritage Exhibit featuring more than 40 stunning works from 23 artists.
The Petticoat Painters, founded in 1953, are one of the nation’s longest-standing continuously exhibiting groups of women artists. Formed to create opportunities for women to show their work at a time when such opportunities were limited, the group continues to honor its founders’ vision through thoughtfully organized exhibitions. As the group reflects, “Experiencing the creative work of women artists offers a better understanding of our world at large.”
Phase 2 features all-new artworks and additional participating artists, bringing a renewed range of perspectives and creative expression to City Hall’s first-floor public spaces.
Opening remarks will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Sculpture Garden, followed by a performance by Sarasota Contemporary Dance (weather permitting). Visitors are invited to meet and mingle with the artists and enjoy light refreshments.
Additional programs include a Film and Q&A on February 27 and a Closing Celebration on March 27. Click here to learn more about the exhibit.
