Juneteenth - Administrative offices closed Friday, June 19

City of Sarasota administrative offices will be closed Friday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth national holiday. Garbage collection schedules will not be impacted.

Join us for a Juneteenth celebration from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way between N. Links Avenue and Pershing Avenue.

Capital Projects

The Capital Projects Division consists of a team of project coordinators, engineering technicians, and construction inspectors. We oversee the design and construction of infrastructure projects and are responsible for implementing the Public Works Department’s capital improvement plan.

Utility Construction Projects

Taking a proactive approach, the City of Sarasota is working hard to upgrade its potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems using the newest and safest methods and materials.

The Smart City initiative is currently focused on achieving resiliency through the following programs: sea level rise monitoring, citywide mapping, red tide mitigation efforts, installation of fiber connectivity infrastructure, and investment in Connective Automated Vehicle (CAV) technology and Electric Vehicle (EV) technology.
