Sister Cities of Sarasota to Host Lunar New Year Celebration Feb. 17
Jan. 16, 2026
The Sister Cities Association of Sarasota (SCAS) and University Town Center (UTC) invite you to celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year on Tuesday, February 17, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Green – UTC. This festive event is free to attend, and all participants will receive Lunar New Year fortune cards.
Enjoy an evening filled with vibrant cultural performances, including Tampa Bay dance groups, martial artists, and professional artists from Orlando. Traditional lion dancers will bring good fortune for the Year of the Horse.
The celebration also features hands-on cultural activities for both children and adults, with mini-lantern prizes awarded to participants. Activities will begin 30 minutes before the event and continue during intermission.
SCAS has proudly hosted successful Lunar New Year events in Sarasota for the past two years, including last year’s highly acclaimed celebration at Ringling College, highlighted in Extraordinary Success of the 2025 Lunar New Year Event by SCAS.
Join us for an exciting evening as we welcome the Year of the Horse!
