Significant restoration and improvement efforts were recently completed at St. Armands Circle.
Following devastation caused by Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton, Parks and Recreation staff worked diligently to restore and enhance the lighting and landscaping at St. Armands Circle, bringing this highly visible public space back to and even exceeding its former condition.
Workers installed a wide selection plants, including 30 new trees and 4,600 shrubs, annuals, and groundcovers. Plants were selected for their resilience, sustainability (including saltwater tolerance), limited reliance on irrigation, and environmental friendliness.
In addition to landscaping, significant work was done in conjunction with the Public Works Department to restore sidewalks, electrical and lighting systems including the installation of new light bollards around the circle. These are important restorative improvements for St. Armands Circle, which is a popular destination for residents and visitors year-round.
