City Commission recognizes National Public Works Week

May 18, 2026

Public works professionals play a vital role in maintaining infrastructure and services that support public health, quality of life, and the overall well‑being of residents. Their work spans transportation systems, water supply and treatment, solid waste services, public buildings, and other essential facilities. It is in the public interest for residents to maintain an understanding of the importance of these functions locally.

During its meeting, the City Commission recognized May 17–23, 2026, as National Public Works Week, acknowledging the crucial role of public works in keeping our community sustainable and resilient. Hardworking crew leaders from the City’s Public Works Department were present to receive the honor.
