Through a partnership between the City and Habitat for Humanity Sarasota, Inc., five first-time, low-income homebuyers are moving into their new homes within walking distance to Avion Park.
The City provided $1.3 million in state and federal funds to make the new affordable homes possible with our Office of Housing and Community Development teaming up with Habitat Sarasota.
A celebration was held recently to commemorate this milestone and Vice Mayor Ohlrich and Commissioner Ahearn-Koch were on hand to share the special moment with the new homeowners and their families.
