Three members of the City Commission have earned certificates through the Florida League of Cities (FLC) Certificate Program for Elected Municipal Officials for their dedication to public service education. Vice Mayor Kathy Kelley Ohlrich and Commissioner Jen Ahearn-Koch each earned a Gold Certificate of Excellence and Mayor Debbie Trice achieved a Silver Certificate of Leadership.
The FLC achievement program recognizes elected municipal officials for their commitment to continuing education through participation in programs including the Institute for Elected Municipal Officials, State-Mandated Continuing Education in Ethics, and legislative events.
Vice Mayor Ohlrich, Commissioner Ahearn-Koch and Mayor Trice participated in the certificate program’s inaugural year, which ran from August 2025 to July 2026. The program offers three certificate levels: the Bronze Certificate of Merit (Level One), the Silver Certificate of Leadership (Level Two), and the Gold Certificate of Excellence (Level Three).
