You may have noticed orange construction barrels placed along Cocoanut Avenue, although there is no road construction in the immediate area.
With construction underway on North Tamiami Trail to replace an aging water main, many drivers are seeking alternative routes, including Cocoanut Avenue. The barrels are strategically placed to serve as a temporary traffic calming measure during the construction on the North Trail. And, the barrels are working…prompting drivers to slow down and stay within the posted speed limit in the neighborhood.
