Public invited to participate in Amaryllis Park Place mural survey

May 21, 2026

The community is invited to take part in the next phase of a public art project coming to Sarasota’s historic Newtown neighborhood. Five finalist mural designs are being considered for the Amaryllis Park Place mural project to enliven the affordable senior housing community’s Orange Avenue façade. The City of Sarasota Public Art Program, in partnership with Sarasota Housing Authority, encourages the public to review the proposed designs and share feedback via survey through Sunday, June 7.

The following regional artists were chosen as finalists for their mural concepts reflecting the project’s theme ‘Where Home Takes Root.’

  • Pommier / Wanza
  • N. Carlos Jefferson
  • Zulu Painter
  • Nicole Salgar
  • Brittany Johnson

Community input is an important part of selecting artwork that celebrates the surrounding neighborhood’s history and aspirations and will shape the final recommendation presented to the Public Art Committee.

We appreciate your participation in this process!
