Meter Change Out Program

Meter Change Out Program Description

About

As part of the City of Sarasota’s continued investment in critical public infrastructure, this project will replace all water meters throughout the city of Sarasota with advanced, wireless-enabled AMI meters. The new system supports proactive system monitoring, improved billing accuracy, and long-term sustainability of the County’s water resources.

The upgraded AMI system will allow the city of Sarasota’s Public Utilities to securely collect meter data remotely, reduce manual meter reads, and identify potential issues such as leaks or abnormal usage more efficiently.

Project Details

The city of Sarasota’s AMI upgrade will include the installation of Neptune’s T10 E-CODER R900i meters for 5/8″ through 2″ T10 water meter sizes.

Neptune’s T10 E-CODER R900i combines Neptune’s proven ultrasonic metering technology with integrated AMI communications, delivering accurate and reliable water usage data without moving parts.

Neptunes T10 E-Coder R900i Water Meter

Neptune’s T10 E-CODER R900i utilizes advanced ultrasonic metering technology with no moving parts, delivering consistent accuracy across both low and high flow ranges while reducing long-term maintenance requirements. The meter features an integrated E-CODER® absolute encoder register paired with a built-in R900i endpoint, enabling secure two-way AMI communication without the need for external wiring or programming.

Designed for flexible deployment, the system supports walk-by, mobile, and fixed network reading environments. Additional capabilities such as tamper detection and environmental monitoring enhance system integrity and operational awareness, making Neptune’s T10 E-CODER R900i a reliable, long-term metering solution for countywide AMI operations.
