Education
Sherman Baldwin graduated from the prestigious Kimball Union Academy and holds a Political Science degree from Nasson College in Maine. He also earned his Master Captain’s license from New England Maritime. His education reflects a strong foundation in leadership, civic engagement, and real-world maritime training.
Experience
Sherman Baldwin has lived and worked in Sarasota for over 15 years, with family roots here since 1985. He and his daughter proudly own Hart’s Landing, a beloved community landmark, and Court 13 at Payne Park Tennis Center. He is currently President of the Park East Community Association and a delegate to the CCNA. Sherman formerly served as President of the Bradenton Beach Area Merchants Association and is known as the host of the legendary Rock the Park free music series, which has drawn thousands over the years. A strong civic voice, he works to balance economic growth with Sarasota’s unique character. Sherman is also the founder of Baldwin Access Media, a Sarasota-based company pioneering a new model of event-based advertising and community engagement. BAM is preparing for a national expansion but remains committed to keeping its roots — and its impact — grounded in Sarasota.
