The Utilities Permitting and Field Services Section is responsible for reviewing and approving water and sewer utility plans, service requests and construction for all residential and commercial water and sewer connections within the City of Sarasota.
New or upsizing of an existing Residential water and/or sewer connection requires the submission of a completed City of Sarasota Utilities Department Utility Request Application Form and Water Demand And Meter Size Determination Form. (below). Processing of the application will not commence until all forms are received and deemed complete.
New or upsizing of an existing Commercial water and/or sewer connection or new subdivision requires the submission of ALL of the forms listed below.

Processing of applications will not commence until all forms are received and deemed complete. Applicants shall be responsible for ensuring the application is complete and checking on the progress of the application.
ALL residential and commercial applications must be submitted to the Utilities Permitting and Field Services Division located at 1750 12th Street, Sarasota, FL 34236. ALL payments shall be made at the Utilities Billing Office located at 1761 12th Street, Sarasota, FL 34236. Permitting staff will provide applicants with the amount owed. Please note that the work will not be scheduled until payment is received and an approval or permit has been issued. Once issued, it typically takes Utilities' crews 4 to 6 weeks to complete the work.
