The baffle box will be installed under 10th street in the Westbound lanes at Florida Avenue.

The contractor intends to start the closure of those lanes to vehicular traffic on Monday morning, April 23, 2018 shortly after 8:00 AM.

The City recently dredged the 10th Street boat basin of accumulated silts, sands and debris that accumulated over the years. The construction of this box will separate the suspended particulate matter in the stormwater runoff and deposit it within the designed chambers at the bottom of the structure. It can then be cleaned on a monthly basis and the debris will not be transported to the boat basin.

The contractor has 160 days to complete the project and the two Westbound lanes of 10th, between Central Ave. and Cocoanut Ave. will be closed to traffic during that period. The two Eastbound lanes of 10th between Central Ave. and Cocoanut will remain open and unimpeded during this same period. The Northbound and Southbound lanes, on both Cocoanut and Central Avenue at 10th will be open and are not affected

Adjacent businesses will remain readily accessible with easy access during construction.
