Nuisance Abatement Board Summary

The Nuisance Abatement Board was established for the purposes of hearing and deciding cases relating to complaints of public nuisance. Cases are dealt with in a similar manner as criminal court cases, with the prosecution being the City Attorney and City Staff, and Plaintiffs being those residents who have been found to be a nuisance. The board consists of 7 members who possess the technical, professional, financial, business or administrative skills necessary to accomplish the work of the board. Meetings are generally held on the second Thursday of each month, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Commission Chambers. The board is assisted and supported by the Police Department.
