Sarasota, FL:  The final draft of the Form-Based Code and preliminary Straight Translation Analysis Map are available for review on the City of Sarasota website:

The Form-Based Code is intended to foster predictable building patterns within designated transects, also known as zone districts.  The Straight Translation Analysis Map depicts the equivalency between existing zoning lot metrics and the new transects.

The document and map are working drafts following extensive neighborhood meetings, community open houses, walking audits, and intense review by City staff members from a cross section of departments.

City staff will continue to review the drafts throughout upcoming workshops scheduled with the community, Planning Board and City Commission. A Community Introductory Workshop is scheduled to be held Thursday, April 5 at 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 1565 First Street.

The process is scheduled to conclude in the fall with public hearings with the Planning Board and City Commission.
