The City of Sarasota Purchasing Division will host a ‘reverse trade show’ where local businesses will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with government procurement professionals from multiple agencies and learn about the possibilities of doing business with those agencies.  The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sarasota ReverseTradeShow, PurchasingMunicipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail.

Hosted in conjunction with the Sarasota Bay Area Chapter of the National Institute of Government Purchasing, representatives from many local agencies will offer insight into government purchasing including the City of Sarasota, City of North Port, Manatee County, Sarasota County, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, Sarasota Schools, and Town of Longboat Key.

Four in-depth presentations also will be given to help demystify procurement and provide insight and guidance into the bid process.

Vendors interested in attending can register in advance at www.SarasotaBayNIGP.org

Last year, over 90 vendors from local businesses attended the reverse trade show which the City also hosted.

For the fifth consecutive year, the City of Sarasota Procurement Division recently was recognized with the Achievement of Excellence award from the National Procurement Institute, becoming one of just 25 recipients in Florida.
