Sarasota, FL: The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-Sarasota) has lifted a health advisory for Sarasota Bay near Centennial Park on Wednesday following water quality testing.
Previous samples indicated contamination of the water after a spill at the City’s Utilities campus on 12th Street last Thursday, when a 48-inch diameter pipe ruptured during a rainstorm. The City notified the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and DOH-Sarasota and took several steps to sanitize the area and mitigate the effects of the spill.
